Hermes
(ancient.-greek Ἑρμῆς)
— in ancient Greek mythology, the god of commerce, profits, rationality, dexterity and eloquence, giving wealth and income in commerce, the god of athletes. Patron of heralds, ambassadors, shepherds, travelers; patron of magic, alchemy and astrology. The messenger of the gods invented the measures, the numbers, the alphabet and taught the people.
